While there aren’t many lawsuits for the injuries caused by the product’s injections, people still try and are successful in pursuing these cases. The Düsseldorf law firm Rogert & Ulbrich has filed several lawsuits against the company Pfizer-BioNTech for alleged damages from the product. The law firm is currently representing around 350 people who were affected. The first cases were filed in Berlin, Cologne, and Munich. The cases are serious and well documented. The lawyers believe there is a fair likelihood of enforcing compensation under Section 84 of the German Drug Law (AMG). The legislature does not require the victim to present proof that the damage was caused by the product. Rather, the manufacturer must prove that there is no connection to the product. The law firm has collected over 1300 research articles on the issue. Laboratory tests of the affected patients also support the described adverse reactions. According to Ulbrich, the fact that the manufacturers were released from liability under EU Commission contracts is irrelevant: Biontech remains accountable as the licensee and supplier. So far, Biontech has showed no interest to pursue an out-of-court settlement. The company simply sent a form to the victims, asking them to fill out their adverse reactions. This is not just inappropriate behavior, but it is also degrading, disrespectful, and defamatory. “The victims believe they are not taken seriously. They are not just suffering from serious, life-threatening health issues as a result of the product. The company responsible for it is now arrogantly giving them the cold shoulder instead of fulfilling its duties,” states Ulbirch’s law firm partner Dr. Marco Rogert. “The clients already filed their complaints to the EMA, the Paul Ehrlich Institute and Biontech.” The victims should expect the facts to be taken seriously, especially in situations involving considerable health impairment.”
