SARS-CoV-2 — The Beginning

In the beginning there was a sequence and the rest is a history.

SARS-CoV-2 story starts with a sequence found after other sequences were removed from the sample.

Does it make it isolated and can that sequence cause a disease?

The story of SARS-CoV-2 didn’t start in 2019 but in 2003 with a study by Christian Drosten, in which he claimed to have identified a new virus which was called SARS-CoV. He and his co-workers isolated RNA (well not exactly) and removed unwanted sequences. What was left matched some coronaviruses.

Is this identification? You decide.

What else is interesting in this study? The patient from which the sample was taken  had proven bacterial infection. How does it make it SARS-CoV then?

There is an interesting study led by the famous Dr Fauci about what caused most of the Spanish flu deaths.

The majority of deaths during the influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 were not caused by the influenza virus acting alone, report researchers from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health. Instead, most victims succumbed to bacterial pneumonia following influenza virus infection. The pneumonia was caused when bacteria that normally inhabit the nose and throat invaded the lungs along a pathway created when the virus destroyed the cells that line the bronchial tubes and lungs.

How was SARS-CoV-2 isolated then?

There wasn’t isolation but removing of unwanted sequences which showed the sequences close to SARS-CoV of course. The sequence has a little twist since part of it matches with  Homo sapiens endogenous virus HERV-H_Chr_2q24 LTR repeat region (Sequence ID: MT992309.1). It is strange because it’s specific for retroviruses. I guess they just didn’t remove all unwanted sequences.

Let’s sum it up: SARS-CoV-2 was isolated by the same way as SARS-CoV i.e. there wasn’t isolation actually. SARS-CoV-2 has unusual retrovirus part matching the human genome.

There is more!

Christian Drosten who detected SARS-CoV, co-incidentally is the author of the study used for the SARS-CoV-2 PCR test. The test is proven to be unreliable and he even admitted it in 2014 (then he was talking about the PCR as a way to detect viruses in general).

In an interview from 2014, in which Charité virologist Christian Drosten was asked by the magazine “Wirtschaftswoche” about the MERS virus, which was rampant at the time, the chief advisor to the federal government himself said in the current corona crisis on the subject of PCR tests: “The method is so sensitive that it can detect a single genetic molecule of this virus. If, for example, such a pathogen flits over the nasal mucous membrane of a nurse for a day without becoming ill or noticing anything, then it is suddenly a Mers case. Where previously terminally ill were reported, now suddenly mild cases and people who are actually very healthy are included in the reporting statistics. ” This could explain the explosion in the number of cases in Saudi Arabia. Drosten continued at that time: “In addition,

What is important to note here that diagnosis of COVID-19 is still based on the sequences and the PCR test. People aren’t even tested for anything else and even treated for it when clearly having another health issue. My suggestion how to be done outlined here was sent to the World Health Organization. The result? My LinkedIn account deleted as my work contacts and portfolio. Despite being the only logical way to prove COVID-19, it was never done and any discussion censored!

There is no evidence that sequence leads to disease!

I discussed the isolation with an analytical chemist who worked with biological samples. Here is what that expert who prefers to stay anonymous thinks about it.

What is known as a “complex sample” among analytical chemists is a sample that in addition to the target analytes (the molecules of interest – here RNA from a virus) also contains a noisy matrix, i.e. a million other molecules. This is when the sample clean-up becomes of utmost importance. So what happens when virologists skip the clean-up step before sequencing?
The sample will tell! Every analytical chemist can tell you: your sample tells you how you treated it. In case of Sars-CoV-2 virus recovery, the samples of total extracted RNA from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) from patients with Covid symptoms contained millions of human genetic material and other microbial genetic material. Unless proven wrong, it may well be that the Sars-CoV-2 genetic sequence originates from the human genome – just like the other 60 % to 99 % of the BALF extracted sequence reads.
